Beautify, minify and validate XML
Machine-generated XML often arrives as one long line. Pretty-printing puts each element on its own line with indentation that mirrors the document tree, which makes SOAP responses, configuration files and feeds readable. Minifying does the reverse for transport.
With the browser's built-in XML parser, which checks that the document is well-formed: every tag is closed, tags are properly nested, attributes are quoted and special characters are escaped. Schema (XSD/DTD) validation is not performed.
